SITA Brought the Labor Market Closer to Youth Through an Open Day
The Serbian IT Association (SITA), in cooperation with the National Employment Service, organized an inspiring Open Day for ITS students, gathering young people eager to begin their careers in the technology sector and gain a clearer understanding of the local IT ecosystem. The event was designed to provide students with a realistic overview of the labor market, employer expectations, and the skills that are most in demand today.

The program began with a tour of the Ložionica, one of Belgrade’s most recognizable creative and innovation hubs. Students had the opportunity to learn more about the history and contemporary role of this space, as well as its importance for the development of the tech community and startup culture.
After the tour, the central part of the event followed -a presentation delivered by Marko Vučetić, Director of the Serbian IT Association. Marko presented the mission, activities, and initiatives of the association, explaining how SITA connects companies, institutions, and young talents with the goal of strengthening the entire IT sector. Special emphasis was placed on current labor market trends, required qualifications, and the technical and soft skills young professionals need to develop.
The interactive segment allowed students to ask questions about their first career steps, relevant certificates, gaining practical experience, and networking opportunities. This event clearly demonstrated how valuable the cooperation between SITA and the National Employment Service is for bridging education and industry. Such partnerships encourage young people to step more confidently into the IT sector and give us additional motivation to continue with similar initiatives.
The atmosphere throughout the event was dynamic and engaging, which is why we are already planning new activities and programs that will connect future professionals with the industry even more strongly and contribute to the growth of Serbia’s digital community.
