Building a Stronger Digital Infrastructure and Enhancing the Business Environment for Serbia’s IT Sector

Today in Belgrade, the Serbian IT Association (SITA) and the Data Center Association of Serbia (DCAS) officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement. This document establishes a legal and institutional framework for a long-term partnership aimed at strengthening digital infrastructure, enhancing the business environment, and driving the further development of the IT sector in the Republic of Serbia. The agreement was signed by Marko Vučetić, Director of the Serbian IT Association, and Jelena Pejković, President of DCAS.

By signing this agreement, SITA and DCAS have reaffirmed their joint commitment to creating synergy between IT service providers and the data center sector. The collaboration will focus on key areas critical to the digital transformation of the domestic economy:

• Advocating for IT Industry Interests: Joint representation before government bodies, ministries, and regulatory agencies, along with active participation in drafting legislation that impacts the IT sector and data center operations.

• Promoting the Highest Standards: Supporting the implementation of international best practices in information security, energy efficiency, and environmentally sustainable data center operations.

• Education and Workforce Development: Close cooperation with educational institutions and universities to create specialized academic programs and internships for training future IT professionals.

• Industry Events and Knowledge Sharing: Organizing joint conferences, seminars, and workshops to foster business connections and promote technological innovation.

On the occasion of the official launch of this partnership, Marko Vučetić, Director of the Serbian IT Association, stated:
