SITA and PC Press Successfully Gather Over 200 Leaders of Digital Serbia
The Serbian IT Association (SITA), in cooperation with PC Press magazine, successfully organized a seminar titled “The Code of Success – Women Powering Digital Serbia.” The event brought together more than 200 leaders, experts, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts who had the opportunity to hear inspiring stories and strategies from the women shaping our country’s tech scene.
The seminar was officially opened by Marijana Pečić, Editor-in-Chief of PC Press, and Marko Vučetić, Director of the Serbian IT Association (SITA), who welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of such initiatives for the further development of the local ecosystem.
Program
The first block was dedicated to the social and historical context. The renowned Prof. Dr. Zorica Tomić deconstructed stereotypes and the “masculine principle” in the business world in her uniquely charismatic way, shedding light on how cultural patterns affect the positioning of women in the digital environment. Immediately after her, Prof. Dr. Jelica Protić from the School of Electrical Engineering (ETF) took us through the emotional and professional history of the domestic IT scene, reminding us of the pioneers who built our tech community long before IT became the “industry of the future.”
Tatjana Stepanović, Regional Enterprise Partner Solution Sales Director for Southern Europe at Microsoft, illustrated what it looks like to lead a business on a global level through her own personal example. With over 25 years of international experience, Tatjana spoke about leadership based on AI innovations and the real opportunities opening up for women.
As part of the panel “The New Logic of Women’s Leadership,” moderated by Zdenka Beba Dragić, successful female leaders from various industries – Aleksandra Ognjanović (ALP Academy), Sandra Vučurović (Marsh Serbia), Snežana Radović (Orion Innovation), and Tanja Kujović (Glovo) – shared their authentic stories about managing change and breaking down corporate barriers. We are exceptionally proud that among the panelists were Sandra and Snežana, directors of companies that are premium members of our association, once again proving that SITA gathers the true leaders of the domestic market.
In the final part of the seminar, the focus shifted to the future and technological trends. Marija Milanović delivered an excellent presentation explaining the dynamics between Gen Alpha, Gen Z, and Millennials, concluding that the key to success lies in mutual mentorship – combining the technological speed of younger generations with the strategic experience of older ones.
A 1-on-1 interview attracted special attention, featuring Vesna Čarknajev (CEO of PC Press) in conversation with Marija Popović, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Ananas E-commerce. Marija revealed what it takes to build one of the largest eCommerce projects in the region from scratch and make decisions that transform domestic online trade.
To wrap up the event, Doc. Dr. Jasmina Nikolić hosted the panel “Builders of the Digital Future,” speaking with data experts Ana Matić (Data Integration Manager at Mozzart, a premium SITA member), Jelena Pejković (President of the Data Center Association of Serbia), and Doroteja Mitrović (Database Analyst at Heliant). They sent a clear message that data and infrastructure are the foundation of digital transformation, and that women in this field hold the keys to innovation.
