The Serbian IT Association (SITA) is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Science and Technology Park (NTP) in Čačak, marking the beginning of a new chapter in strengthening innovation and supporting the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Serbia.

This memorandum defines activities aimed at improving the connection between business and academia, encouraging knowledge exchange, and creating new opportunities for IT companies, startups, and young talent. The cooperation seeks to enhance both the local and national IT sector through support programs, education, and the promotion of innovation.
On this occasion, Darko Vasilić, Director of NTP Čačak, stated:
“We believe that joint initiatives will strengthen the ties between academia and business, while also creating conditions for the IT sector to become one of the key drivers of economic development in this region. We are especially pleased that this cooperation will allow young people to gain practical knowledge, develop their ideas, and connect with industry leaders.”
Panel Discussion “Biznis razgibavanje” – Startups and the Challenges of Growth
Following the signing of the memorandum, Marko Vučetić, Director of the Serbian IT Association, took part in the panel discussion “Biznis razgibavanje.” The event brought together IT professionals and entrepreneurs with the goal of exchanging experiences and providing practical advice for overcoming challenges.

Panelists emphasized that understanding the market and being ready to adapt quickly to changes are crucial for startup success. Particular focus was placed on the challenges of securing funding, finding the right partners, and identifying the appropriate market. The importance of prioritizing domestic over foreign markets and solving local problems was also highlighted.
Marko Vučetić stressed that startups are one of the most dynamic segments of the domestic economy, but that more needs to be done to create a favorable business environment and provide incentives for young innovators.

The discussion demonstrated that, despite numerous challenges, startups hold enormous potential to contribute to economic growth and job creation. Events like this are invaluable for fostering connections and inspiring future entrepreneurs.
