Deepening Cooperation and Opening New Doors for the IT Sector
Today, the Serbian IT Association (SITA) had the distinct honor of hosting an official delegation from IT Park Uzbekistan in Belgrade. This visit serves as a natural continuation of the successful dialogue established between the two organizations, aimed at building strong ties between the domestic and Uzbek tech ecosystems.
From Vision to Realization: A Tour of Ložionica
The meeting kicked off with a tour of the modern Ložionica complex, a hub for innovators and creatives. The guests from Uzbekistan were introduced to the unique concept of this space, which unites creative industries and modern IT solutions under one roof, fostering an ecosystem where innovative companies, permanent exhibitions, and key state institutions, such as the Office for IT and eGovernment, operate side by side.
Exchange of Experience and Best Practices
Following the tour, the working session focused on presentations and strategic planning. On behalf of the Serbian IT Association, Marina Varzar, SITA Board Member and Director at DataArt, presented the association’s mission, goals, and key achievements. She highlighted SITA’s key initiatives in building a stable, competitive, and globally recognized Serbian IT sector.
Representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan shared their rich experience in developing the Uzbek IT market, outlining business conditions and incentive programs available to foreign companies. Through examples of best practices, they demonstrated how the fast-growing markets of Central Asia offer significant opportunities for regional expansion and partnerships.

Looking to the Future: Joint Projects and Business Networking
The key takeaway from the meeting was the clear potential for synergy between the two markets. Looking ahead, concrete next steps include:
-
Connecting Member Companies: Direct networking between Serbian and Uzbek IT businesses to facilitate knowledge sharing, outsourcing, and joint entries into third-party markets.
-
Joint Initiatives: Organizing B2B matchmaking events, workshops, and potential trade missions.
-
Strengthening the Innovation Ecosystem: Continuous exchange of best practice models for startup support and tech talent development.
Today’s visit marks the beginning of a practical new chapter in the relationship between the Serbian IT Association and IT Park Uzbekistan, driven by a shared vision to create new business opportunities for our members through open dialogue and collaboration.
