Memorandum of Cooperation Signed Between the FON and the SITA

Strengthening the Collaboration Between Industry and Education

The Faculty of Organizational Sciences (FON) and the Serbian IT Association (SITA) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation establishing a strategic partnership aimed at further strengthening the ties between academia and the IT industry in Serbia.

The Memorandum was signed by Professor Marko Mihić, PhD, Dean of FON, and Marko Vučetić, Director of the Serbian IT Association. The initiative includes a range of activities focused on advancing education, research, and development in the IT sector.

“Among the strategic priorities of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences is the continuous monitoring of global trends and adaptation to the evolving needs of the market and society. Through this agreement, we are further reinforcing the connection between academic knowledge and the needs of the modern IT industry.

The Faculty of Organizational Sciences is recognized as a leading higher education and research institution in the fields of information systems and technologies, as well as management and organization. For many years, our students and graduates have represented a significant part of the talent pool within the IT sector in Serbia and the region. Cooperation with industry is one of FON’s strategic priorities, and given that we already collaborate with a large number of member companies of the Serbian IT Association, this agreement further institutionalizes and elevates that cooperation to a higher level.

The Serbian IT Association, as a relevant organization bringing together leading IT companies in the country, plays an important role in connecting key stakeholders and supporting the continued development of the sector. Partnering with such an organization enables us to work together on improving study programs, developing students’ practical knowledge and skills, and implementing joint projects, research, and initiatives significant for the advancement of the IT sector,” said Professor Marko Mihić, PhD, Dean of FON.

Marko Vučetić, Director of the Serbian IT Association, emphasized:

“Since the founding of the Serbian IT Association, our focus has always been on young people, students, and those just entering the labor market and beginning their professional careers. We believe it is essential for industry and educational institutions to act together, to understand the needs and challenges on both sides, and to approach the market jointly.

Cooperation with the Faculty of Organizational Sciences allows us to directly connect academia and industry, foster the exchange of knowledge and experience, and work together on developing an IT ecosystem in Serbia that is competitive, innovative, and sustainable.

As SITA, we will strive to further enhance this collaboration through concrete projects, internships, mentorship programs, and joint initiatives that will provide students with real-world experience and offer companies the opportunity to identify and develop new talent.”

By signing the Memorandum, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to building a long-term and stable partnership that will contribute to the development of a modern IT environment in Serbia.
