The SITA Board of Directors Welcomes a New Member
Due to the significant growth of the Serbian IT Association in 2025, as well as the increased number of processes and activities, a decision was made to appoint an additional member to the Board of Directors. The new member is Vladan Ostojić, co-founder of Vega IT.
Vladan Ostojić was born in 1980 in Zvornik. He completed his academic studies at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, earning a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. During his studies, he began working as a software developer, and in the first few years of his career, he worked for a Dutch company based in Novi Sad. In 2006, he moved to the Netherlands, where he spent several years developing software solutions for some of the world’s largest companies.
After several years, he returned to Serbia and, together with his former university colleague Saša Popović, founded Vega IT using their own resources. Today, Vega IT employs over 900 people with expertise across more than 15 industries, including finance, insurance, healthcare, retail, and many others. Vladan’s passion for entrepreneurship has also led him to help found more than 10 young companies over the past several years.

With development centres in Novi Sad, Zrenjanin, Belgrade, Nis, and Podgorica, as well as strategic offices in New York, London, Amsterdam and Riyadh, the company is actively expanding its global footprint, bringing world-class software solutions closer to its partners. At the heart of Vega IT lies a vision to build a company that leads through innovation, deep domain expertise, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. The company does not just write code – it engineers success, transforms businesses, and creates meaningful digital experiences. Beyond technology, Vega IT’s culture is built on supporting its people and giving back to society. Believing that a thriving community is the foundation of sustainable success, they established the Vega IT Foundation in 2022, reinforcing their commitment to making a difference beyond business.
With the appointment of Vladan Ostojić, the Serbian IT Association continues to strengthen its governance capacity and further enhance its strategic direction, with the goal of developing the IT sector in Serbia, improving the business environment, and strengthening cooperation between IT companies, institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.
